If you have an Irish Life Health, Vhi or Laya Health insurance policy that includes medical cover abroad up to €55,000 we will offer you a discount on the principle that there is no point in paying for the same cover twice.
How it works?
If you avail of this discount, your QuickCover policy provides cover as normal except for the portion already provided by your private medical insurance provider. Any cost over €55,000 would be covered under your travel insurance policy up to €6.4m.
By accepting this policy discount, you or your private medical insurer are responsible for the first €55,000 of medical expenses.
Important Note You must ensure that your healthcare policy is valid and when you plan to take a trip you must ensure that your health insurance cover is in force up until and including your return date. All persons included on a travel insurance policy must also be covered by the healthcare policy. This healthcare policy must include up to at least €55,000 worth of medical expenses cover for ALL insured persons on the policy whilst overseas to include repatriation to your home country. It is important you do not leave any gap in your health cover and your travel policy. Please note this is your responsibility.
